How did you hear about DRD?

I went to an Auld Reekie exhibition game at the fringe in 2012 and always wanted to try it out. I moved to Dundee in 2019, saw a flyer and looked up DRD. Newbies started that week, I went along and never looked back.

What position do you skate in?

I play offence a lot, but I love being a blocker and being part of a wall. As long as there's not a star on my helmet I'm happy!

Who is your Derby hero?

Ellin Seaton (Seaton - Dundee Roller Derby) is my Derby hero. She always pushes to be the best skater she can be and she always shares what she learns. She's strong, fast, understands strategy, and it's absolutely terrifying knowing she's coming up behind you.

Favourite motivational quote?

'This is your burn! ' - George motivating me into getting my 27/5.

How does Derby impact rest of your life?

Derby gives me a lot to focus on for my personal fitness goals, it helps me stay motivated when the last thing I want to do is workout.

Three words to describe derby?

Community, challenge, and perseverance

Do you have a favourite podcast atm?

My favourite podcast at the moment is 'Behind the Bastards.' It's a podcast about the worst people in history and how they got away with it with a little bit of comedy mixed in.

Do you play any other sports outwith Roller Derby?

I play 5 a side football when I can. Sometimes struggle to remember I can't just hit people out of my way.

Favourite band?

I've been listening to the 502s on repeat at the minute to get those good vibes in.

Ice cream flavour of choice?

A nice old lady rum and raisin.

Who do you choose for next month's DRD Spotlight, and why?

I choose Tash (Catastrophe) - she worked really hard to pass her mins and get game-ready, then unfortunately COVID hit!
