How did you hear about Roller Derby and the DRD?

I met our delightful GoldGinger through work a few years back in 2015 and she told me of the wonders that derby & DRD bring...so I immediately went to a taster session... immediately bought skates... immediately realised I'd bought crap skates and so had to buy another set....passed my mins that year and the rest is history (a whirlwind of pushing limits, emotions, love and after-parties).

Also watched Whip It. Obv.

Favourite thing about derby since you started?

Merch... and becoming pals with the most incredible humans that have changed my life forever. But mostly the merch.

Three words to describe derby to you? Inclusive. Fam. Lifeline

What is your job?

I work with the Police in the Productions (Evidence) department...it's gone from 'I really need out of science so am applying for anything & everything' to a proper delightful wee job. It is beyond ridiculous at times but I absolutely love it. What do you do to relax? Usually lying on George's floor and watching Buffy does the trick. Other than that I don't think I've ever described myself as relaxed (insert upsidedown face emoji)

Where is your favourite place in the world?

Wherever is close proximity to pals is my favourite place. Blackpool is delightful too. And Disneyland was also boss.

Any other hobbies outwith roller derby?

I am a keen bean when it comes to bouldering. Something oddly soothing about hanging off a rock face by your fingertips. Also definitely cut out to be a Professional Slackliner (note extreme sarcasm, I am terrible at it)

What is your favourite thing to do in Dundee? Watching a thousand films at the annual Dundead Horror Film Festival at the DCA is definitely up there.

Are there any podcast you love to listen to?

Huge fan of true crime and my absolute favourite podcast is My Favourite Murder...got to see their live show last year in Scotland and it was SO GOOD #hardcoremurderino #ssdgm

Do you have any tattoos? Yes. 7 I believe. Ranging from Pokémon to dreamcatchers to golden snitches to sunflowers.

Favourite after party memory? Massively body-positive Harry Potter-themed burlesque - in Malmö after the WFTDA D1 Playoffs, will forever be one of the most ridiculously wonderful things I've ever witnessed. Do you have any pets? I have a long-haired lop-eared rabbit called Bonnie Thumpers (lol) who hated me for approximately 3 years but we are now friends and we do nose boops. I am also currently trying to keep some SeaMonkeys alive but it's not going so great. Tell us an interesting fact about you! Can complete Streets of Rage 1 on the Sega almost flawlessly. Who do you choose for next month's DRD spotlight and why? I'd like to nominate Connor - one of the most determined lovely newbies I've met, who is bossing his way through mins !
