How did you hear about Roller Derby and the DRD?

I'd 1st heard of both DRD and Derby at uni. A friend of a friend was a skater so we went to watch the odd bout, when I finally started to understand the rules, I was hooked.

What's your favourite thing to do in Dundee?

The observatory and associated park. I used to head up there as a break when studying and its such a nice quite area.

How did you start skating?

I'd started at a BCR taster session intending to ref, but as soon as skates were on, I wanted to play the game.

Favourite Derby memory?

The road trips! You can travel with great people, though we often get lost (such as heading to Hull rather than Cheshire! My captain was not best pleased when I phoned her) it makes for a good story.

What do you do to relax?

I mostly relax by breaking out the good tea, and reading a book. That, or exploring a castle!

Most embarrassing moment in roller derby?

During one of my 1st bouts, I was hit in the face and had to sit with an ice pack over my nose. It was the 1st time friends from uni came to watch...

What's your favourite thing about roller derby?

The way a team supports each other, plus playing about in wheely boots!

What's your current job?

I'm in regulatory affairs, so lots of emails and paperwork

... and your dream job?

To own a bookshop... (though I 1st need to play then win the lottery)

Do you have any pets?

I've got 2 tortoiseshell cats that are utterly adorable. Ada (for Augusta Ada Lovelace) and Frankie (Rosalind Franklin).

Mayhem! She helped me find the fun in skating again when I was returning from injury.
