How did you get involved with roller derby?
A previous member invited me along to try out and I turned the offer down thinking it wasn't for me, but I couldn't stop thinking about it and did some research and messaged her on good ole Bebo and then I came along to try out and I loved it.
Tell us about your name and number.
Well I used to go by Spex Offender just cause it was funny & shocking but I got a bit older and my daughter started asking about it so thought it was time to just go by Spex. And my number well I used to really love a footballer (no names) who played with the number 11 on his top and I've used it ever since i was a teenager, it's a little sad! Haha.
Before you discovered roller derby were you involved in any other sport/exercise, and if yes how has derby impacted on this.
Nope, never done anything sporty or exercis- wise before roller derby.
Position of choice.
I really enjoy blocking but I'm trying to get out my comfort zone and jam more at training and scrims.
What teams have you skated with?
I've played with The Silvery Tayzers, Bonnie Colliders, and our Home Teams The Jammie Dodgers & The Jutes of Hazzard. Also been lucky enough to guest skate for other leagues.
Do you have a pre/post bout ritual?
Pre-game I get advice from Crown Jules & Hubs - they always settle my nerves.
Post game - A cup of tea!
How would you describe your derby playing style and do you have a signature move?
I don't know how to describe my playing style, maybe a little messy? Ha! A signature move? I have no clue, maybe someone can fill me in on that one.

Who do you choose as next month's Skater of the Month?
I decided to pick someone who always gives me advice on and off track. This person is always constantly upping his game, always giving his knowledge at training and scrims and helping out with our newbies on Wednesday. Plus he gave me a pair of awesome socks, it's the "gorgeous" Shuggs Bunny.
